Superintendent Steven D. Sims, Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site, is a graduate of West Point, where he earned a bachelors in science in civil engineering and was commissioned as an officer in the engineer branch. He also holds a masters in science in engineering management from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Norwich University.
Michelle A. Krowl is the Civil War and Reconstruction specialist in the Manuscript Division at the Library of Congress. She received a B.A. in History from the University of California, Riverside, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of several articles and books on topics relating to the Civil War, as well as Quantico, Virginia and the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. She has worked as a library assistant at the Historical Society of Washington, D.C., an assistant professor at Northern Virginia Community College, and as a research assistant for historian Doris Kearns Goodwin.
Lieutenant General Christopher F Burne, USAF (retired), was the 17th Judge Advocate General of the Air Force. Following the lead of his father, a highly decorated World War II Eighth Air Force veteran, he was commissioned in 1983, retiring from active duty as a 3-star general after 35-years of service. He is a two-time recipient of the AF Distinguished Service Medal.
